Labor Day may mark the unofficial end of Summer, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy outdoor dining in Boston and surrounding areas.
Boston
Boston’s outdoor dining program ends for most neighborhoods in December, although the city has yet to set the exact date. In the North End, patio seating ends on September 30. In addition, city officials are allowing High Street Place to keep its patio open year-round.
Brookline
Brookline restaurants can apply for annual (year-round) or seasonal outdoor seating licenses. Seasonal outdoor seating ends on November 15.
Cambridge
Cambridge’s outside dining program is scheduled to end on November 30.
Newton
For restaurants using on-street parking spaces, al fresco dining ends on January 2, 2023. Restaurants with private patios or sidewalk seating can keep outside seating open annually (license ends April 1, 2023).
Needham
Al fresco dining in Needham ends on November 30.
Somerville
Somerville outdoor dining ends on November 30.
Waltham
Moody Street remains closed for outside eating through October 31. Restaurants with private patios can remain open year-round.
