Patriots Kick Off Season with New IPA

Spread the love

Watching New England Patriots games just got a lot tastier. The six-time Super Bowl Championship is teaming up with Nantucket-based Cisco Brewers to launch a new beer, “Forever New England Gameday IPA” for the 2022 season.

According to Cisco Brewers, the new brew is a slightly hazy India pale ale with Amarillo and Galaxy hops, clocking in at 5.4% alcohol by volume. The Patriots’ throwback “Pat the Patriot” logo adorns the brew’s packaging.

“At Cisco, we’ve always been a brewery that has brought people together for a good time,” said Matt O’Neill, General Manager at Cisco Brewers. “We’re pumped to continue that tradition by uniting New Englanders over the two things we love: the Patriots and good craft beer.”

Where to Get the Brew

The beer is now available at Gillette Stadium, Patriots Place, restaurants and bars from Connecticut to Maine. It’s also on tap at Cisco’s five pub locations: Nantucket; the Seaport; New Bedford; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Stamford, Connecticut.

Additionally, Forever New England is now on shelves at liquor stores throughout New England in 16-ounce can 4-packs and 12-ounce can 12-packs.

The Winning Teams

Forever New England Gameday IPA is Cisco Brewer’s first professional sports partnership. It’s a collaboration with the Patriots through a longstanding partnership between them and Anheuser-Busch. Indeed, Cisco Brewers joined Anheuser-Busch’s Brewers Collective in 2020.

The Patriots are not the first Boston team to launch a craft brew. Several years ago, the Boston Red Sox launched “Wicked Fenway IPA” with the Boston Beer Company, brewer of Samuel Adams. The beer is on tap at Fenway Park and available at limited locations in the Boston area. Additionally, three Boston Bruins players, Massachusetts natives Charlie Coyle of Weymouth, defenseman Matt Grzelcyk of Charlestown, and forward Chris Wagner, teamed up with Harpoon Brewery to create a new beer, “Hometown Hat Trick.” Previously, in 2020, Wagner launched “Don’t Poke the Bear” with Harpoon.
