The outdoor dining rules Massachusetts established during the Covid pandemic expire in March 2023, and many would like to see al fresco dining in Newton become a permanent fixture. For restaurants across the state to continue with outdoor dining, cities and towns must update their own rules and regulations
The Charles River Regional Chamber started a petition with over 1,600 signatures to keep Newton’s outdoor-dining rules in place after March 2023. The Newton City Council’s Public Safety & Transportation Committee will discuss the issue on December 7 at 7 p.m.
